Frequently asked questions.

Do you offer Ed/Psych or Neuropsych evaluations?

We conduct a more condensed evaluation of clients using their current ed/psych or neuro-psych assessments and other documentation to understand where they are and what obstacles they may encounter. We refer clients to local professionals who provide these tests as part of their services.

What can I expect to get out of therapy?

Therapy is modeled after the book, “Thriving at the Edge of Chaos: Making ADHD a Superpower in College and Career,” which provides tools effective in helping people avert and resolve depression, anxiety, and other stress-related issues, manage life organization and balance, and maintain a healthy academic self-concept and beliefs.

What type of therapy do you offer?

DBT, CBT, solution-focused, supportive therapy.

What does an “integrated program” mean?

By “Integrated program,” we mean our staff communicates regarding clients’ experience in various aspects of our services.   Assessment and Workshop Staff brief Academic Coaches and Counselors; Academic Coaches and Counselors update each other regarding clients’ unique experiences of overcoming obstacles and utilizing and integrating the tools and strategies they develop.  Cross-communication among the staff helps our clients get the most out of their experience with our program and offers them the most significant possibilities for growth and progress.

What type of insurance do you accept?

Your insurance company may reimburse fees for services, and we encourage you to contact your health insurance representative. Although we do not accept direct insurance reimbursement and participate in no managed care networks (except for Tricare Prime), we will work with you to obtain a refund.

What can we expect out of coaching?

By utilizing the components of the book, “Thriving at the Edge of Chaos: Making ADHD a Superpower in College and Career,” coaches empower students to overcome issues of focus, motivation, organization, self-monitoring/management, and self-advocacy – and more.

What can I expect to get out of the workshop?

The workshop provides a gateway opportunity to develop a deep understanding of the academic and life skills described in the book. One participant stated, “The workshop helped me personalize these ideas and get them at a cellular level.”  Students can expect to come away from the workshop with a well-honed set of highly relevant skills and tools that will help them make the most of college and other postsecondary training and develop a more straightforward path to success and fulfillment in the world of work. Their completed Workbook reminds them of these concepts and specifics of how they will integrate them effectively into their life.
