Julian Oley, M.A — Resident Therapist

Having been diagnosed with ADHD in Junior high and grappling with it through school, career, and life, I have a very personal understanding of the difficulties faced by ADHD’ers and other neurodivergent folk as they face struggles to move forward in life.

Like most young people today, it isn’t surprising that the road to my being a residential therapist and coach was winding and convoluted.  I entered college wanting to go into the medical profession but ended up studying Chinese language, business, culture, and psychology. I moved to China and spent two years living and working there. When I returned to the States, I married and worked as an accountant (don’t ask). At the same time, I got my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, specializing in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy.

I enjoy building rapport and a trusting relationship with my clients, using a person-centric, integrated approach as the foundation for treatment, followed by the modalities needed to address each client’s specific needs. I have a particular interest in counseling and coaching young adults who have ADHD, adjustment issues, anxiety/depression, and difficulties transitioning to college life.
