adhd student academic coaching

Pauline Savaadra, Academic/Life Coach

I am an ADHD academic coach with ten years of coaching experience with young adults. I have worked in higher education for the last 25 years. I started my career in admissions and reviewed thousands of applications for Columbia University graduate and undergraduate schools. Then, I left admissions and Columbia for a position at Vassar College, where I could work closely with students. Specifically, I wanted to work with students who needed the guidance I would have benefited from when I was in college. Unfortunately, I was a first-generation college student with parents who didn’t finish high school. In addition, I had undiagnosed ADHD and Dyslexia and had to fight my way through the challenges of higher education.

In my first year at Vassar College, I found that the most productive way to make that dream a reality was to educate myself in academic coaching. At Vassar College, I coached, counseled, and advised students on graduation, graduate school, and life/academic skills.  My position at Vassar was always challenging, but for eight years, every spring, I felt an overwhelming joy watching students I worked with walk across the stage and receive their hard-won degrees.

It is an honor to bear witness to the challenges and triumphs of so many amazing people. I look forward to continuing working with young adults in The ADHD College Success Guidance Program to foster their skills for success in this uncertain world.
